The device could get the job done with the default sleeve, but it was not particularly comfortable, and full insertion on each stroke required some force. As such, it had sat unused in the cupboard for months.
The new sleeve is a significantly better experience. It is not noticeably wider visually, but is much softer, which is especially important where the canister narrows. This is the sort of improvement over other options to justify the additional clean up effort, and is likely to get much more use.
Company took a long time to respond to feedback with an upgraded product — which really should be an option at device purchase rather than an additional cost — but did an excellent job eventually.

I got the newer ones which I found out on reddit were injected but the old ones were poured, so this is only valid at least for these newer models sold at the end of January 2025 and onwards. The inner textures on these are much more nuanced than on the normal sleeves which underwhelmed me. I took advantage of a 3 unit package deal . They were better than expected because the website did not do a great job of showing textures.

Like the other reviewers, I didn't know my dick was that big until the regular sleeve that came with my Ultra felt a bit tight. It was still usable but this makes it much more "comfortable" if you know what I mean. Also the lube lasts longer when I use this one vs the normal one.

Not sure why these sleeves are labeled as "Ultra-Wide" because they fit me better than the sleeves that come with the unit, and I don't consider myself as having a larger dick than most guys. The sleeves that came with the AutoBlow (including the sleeves that you could order separately) were too tight for me and would squeegee the lube right off after a few minutes of use, which made it uncomfortable and a hassle to have to constantly re-lube. Even the improved AB with the option to tighten or loosen the inner ring that holds the sleeve in place didn't help at all and so I put the unit away.
I got an email from AB that had these wide sleeves advertised on it and decided to give them a try. These worked out WAY better and I was able to enjoy the AB from beginning to end, a session about an hour long (when it's good I like to take my time). And I think I only had to re-lube once.
If the original sleeves felt too tight or uncomfortable to use the machine frequently (or at all), these wider option sleeves will solve that issue. Although if you really are sporting a bigger or wider than average sized dick (congrats), I don't think the sleeves here -- even labeled as "ultra wide" -- are going to help you.
I've got other toys in my box and the FleshJack/Light is the one company that could be considered Autoblow's competition. Both companies have similar price points, but the FJ/L pulls ahead of AB when it comes to the male masturbator toys market.

Their standard sleeves aren't too tight, and they do offer some that are tighter. I get that from a company's perspective, Autoblow is making the decision that the sleeve has to accommodate the widest variety of dick sizes. Therefore, it's better for a wider dick to stretch the sleeve, but a dick with thinner girth may not even touch the sides or get enough friction, and won't get any pleasure at all, so it really isn't the company's fault. However, now that there is the option of a wider sleeve, as other reviewers have suggested, customers should be given the option between the regular and wider sleeve when first ordering the unit.
What works in AB's favor is that the machine is lighter and not as cumbersome as the FJ/L's "Launch," and their continuing efforts to evolve the machine. From the original to the Ai Ultra to the Ai plus and now the Vaccu Glide, Autoblow is constantly trying to improve its product.
